“Evanescence”

“The eleven-o’clock-lady* has flooded the garden patch with Light,
Therewith providing great joy to all pollinating insects.
Filled with pride for shining so bright, there she lies all petals tight,
Sublimed by the last rays of sunshine, perfect.
Waiting for bacteria and micro-organisms to guide her into the night,
And ready to perpetuate the cycle of Life, with no fright and no tears wept.”

“La belle de 11 heures* a illuminé son coin de jardin,
A la grande joie des insectes butineurs.
Non peu fière d’avoir ainsi brillé, la voici couchée sur son écrin,
Les pétales se refermant, sublimés par les dernières lueurs.
Prête à ce que bactéries et micro-organismes lui fassent continuer son chemin,
Et perpétuer le cycle de la vie, sans peur ni pleurs.”
